Review of Wonder Woman (2009) by David F — 13 Mar 2009
The best yet of the DC Animated Features! Diana's origin is finally told in accurate detail here surrounded by a solid supporting cast of characters. The mythology is intact and as it should be, intergral to the story.
Russell and Fillion are great together (check them out in The Waitress) with a smart and funny script. Too often, Wonder Women hasn't been taken seriously. First, the Justice League animated series gave the icon a fully-developed, powerful character that is a smart, beautiful and uncompromising warrior and now this feature is able to focus on how she became who she is and why she was chosen to be a symbol of unity.
Great design and visuals with add to a fantastic story and excellent cast. Not necessarily for the younger crowd but certainly for the fans and a great introduction of a wonderful character.
