Even though I am a fan of Allen's recent work (Midnight in Paris, Blue Jasmine, even Cafe Society) this movie fell flat. The story line was basic and predictable, and other than a decent performance from Juno Temple, the rest of the cast, specifically Winslet and Belushi, seriously overacted their parts to the point that it wasn't believable.
Allen can take chances with who he casts (Dice Clay in Blue Jasmine for example) and it usually pays off, but Belushi seemed like he was out of his league in this movie to begin with.
