Review of Wonder Boys (2000) by Rachael B — 25 Jan 2008
Captures the spirit of an East Coast college better than just about anything before or since. The entire cast is perfect, and even Tobey Maguire (normally pretty icy) shows some real emotion and spark.
Spins a little out of control in the last half-hour, but somehow that fits with the way the characters' lives do the same. (I have named a few people 'Vernon Hardapple' since seeing this film, too!).
