Review of Wonder Boys (2000) by Scott E — 26 Dec 2007
I've seen the "Wonder Boys" more than a dozen times and enjoy it more each time. It's my favorite Michael Douglas performance. It's also set in my hometown of Pittsburgh, which Curtis Hanson captures on film as a character and "Wonder Boy" itself.
Hanson uses Pittsburgh as the setting to explore the difference between 'one hit wonders' and lasting genius. I loved Michael Chabon's novel, but think I love the movie more.
