Review of Wonder Boys (2000) by La L — 12 Nov 2009
A engrossing dramedy featuring great performances from Michael Douglas, Tobey Maguire and Robert Downey, Jr. Much like the characters themselves the plot is eccentric and wanders a bit but it all makes sense somehow; in a way, it's one of the better and most effective college-themed films I've seen.
Why this movie, despite it's weaknesses, was not nominated for a decent amount of Oscars is a mystery to me.
