Charming character piece. The cast is outstanding, though this is really a show for Douglas and he doesn't fail, with a simple performance that is lacking any sort of showy histrionics that just wouldn't fit in such a small, intimate film.
There isn't a whole lot of forward momentum with the plot; everything just sort of meanders around, but that only mimics the lead characters malaise. Smart, sweet & funny.
