Review of Wonder (2017) by Smilesong — 14 May 2018
Going on this adventure with Auggie in theaters was one of the most emotionally devestating things ever. I couldn’t keep my eyes dry. That’s what’s beautiful about this movie. Wonder is a story about a boy born with a facial deficiency who has been homeschooled all his life.
His parents decide to enroll him in public school so he can attend the first year of middle school around other kids. However, at the public school he is teased and bullied to no end. Wonder is a heartfelt film that, albeit missing an original story, feels legitimate.
We’re watching this in Chorus class today, and I couldn’t be happier to experience this again.
