The movie was touted as uplifting and inspiring but included a number of less inspiring moments. Auggie makes his first friend in school by cheating. Auggie's mother pays little attention to Auggie's sister, while the grandmother states the sister is her favorite.
many of the scenes seem fabricated and the repeated use of narrators interfere with the flow of the movie.
