Review of Wonder (2017) by Mariem E — 26 Feb 2018
I saw the book EVERYWHERE, and I managed to avoid it. Then the movie was out EVERYWHERE, and I managed to avoid that too. Until today. Today I watched it. I have to say that the last film I liked with Julia Roberts in it is probably Pretty Woman, and about Owen Wilson let's say he is lucky to be so often in Wes Anderson works.
It's a family movie with nothing really new to say. It doesn't start to badly, with the different point of views and all that, but at the end is just as you would expect it. You can still show this to kids: it's a good lesson.
But for the rest of us, the ones falling in love with "The Elephant man", is just a commercial and flat work. By the way, sending the protagonist in a school of little models wasn't a great idea to begin with.
