Review of Women in Trouble (2009) by Joshua B — 22 Mar 2010
A good comedy from Sebastian Gutierrez ("Elektra Luxx"). I actually saw the sequel, "Elektra Luxx", first and I thought the sequel was better. There were less characters so the story was more concise. Also I thought the best scene during the movie happened after the credits ended.
The film stars Carla Gugino ("Elektra Luxx", "Watchmen"), Adrianne Palicki ("Friday Night Lights", "Legion"), Connie Britton ("Friday Night Lights", the upcoming "A Nightmare On Elm Street" remake), Caitlin Keats, Emmanuelle Chriqui ("You Don't Mess With the Zohan", "Entourage"), Marley Shelton ("Grindhouse"), Simon Baker ("The Mentalist"), and Josh Brolin ("No Country For Old Men", "W"). The film also has the director's daughter, Isabella and Joseph Gordon-Levitt ("Brick", "10 Things I Hate About You").
The cast is very good, the acting is decent. The film is funny but I liked the sequel more. 3/5 stars. (3/22/10).
