Review of Women in Love (1969) by William M — 09 Aug 2018
Whilst DH Lawrence may not have realised he had written a classic, Ken Russell most certainly recognised Lawrence?s brilliance when he adapted Women In Love onto film in 1969. There is an array of emotionally charged performances on display and Ken Russell illuminates the sexual tension between its characters fully to his audience.
Women In Love is about love, death, passion and rage; and the struggle between these mental states. The audience is challenged to look deeper into our psyche and find what it is that we desire.
