Review of Women He's Undressed (2015) by Margaret E — 21 Dec 2015
The Women He's Undressed is not a conventional documentary, fitting for its unconventional subject. For the most part, the combination of talking heads, archival footage and bizarre little monologues interspersed with reenactments produces entertaining insight into the life of the eccentric costume designer, Orry Kelly.
There are moments however, when the breaks from convention become confusing and the whole thing goes off the rails. It also gives the air of something that can't quite be trusted, an interesting choice for a documentary.
