You have to see this. It has such a tactile feel to it... is that the right word? Anyhow, you feel the grittiness of the sand and his world. Yes, it is successfully erotic in places due to its tactileness.
.. there I made a word up. I noticed Steve S didn't like the soundtrack, but I have to disagree. It is done by the world class composer-_Toru Takemitsu. It's stark and very effectively employed by Teshigahara.
