Hiroshi Teshigahara made a handful of films and then spent the rest of his life arranging flowers. It's too bad, too, because if Woman In the Dunes is any indicator, he may have been the best Japan ever had to offer.
And that's saying a hell of a lot. Criterion has a boxset of all his feature-length films. Buy it immediately.
