#WomanInGold - Helen Mirren plays a woman who, with the help of Ryan Reynolds, takes on the Austrian government in an attempt to retrieve a painting stolen from her family by the Nazis. Yes, it is predictable.
Yes, we have seen this type of story before. And yes, I would watch Helen Mirren read the dictionary if it was on the big screen. With the obvious stuff out of the way, this David and Goliath story is still worth watching.
Its dramatic and witty taking you back to a time when Maria Altmann (Mirren) fled Austria leaving her family behind and the Nazis to steal their family possessions. There're no frills here just a good solid medium bucket of popcorn.
