Review of Woman in Gold (2015) by Matthew F. J — 17 Apr 2015
A nice film about an interesting topic, art restitution the Nazis looted and stole from Jewish families. It's a very academic film, well shot, well written, well acted and nicely produced. Everything is square and efficiently made.
If you like that type of film , you will for sure have a very nice time at the movies. It's the perfect film to decompress and enjoy a quiet night at the movies. Mirren and Reynolds are both great and their alchemy on screen is wonderful.
The film is a little too conventional and the outcome of the story can be seen miles away but the director manages to keep it all entertaining, interesting and quite funny at times. Nice entertainment.
