Review of Woman in Gold (2015) by Bill K — 26 Apr 2015
Having seen various reviews (mostly lukewarm to negative) we were reluctant to see this film. The "trashing" of Ryan Reynolds was especially convincing. Don't believe everything your read! We thought that this was a superb treatment of the subject.
Reynolds and Mirran were superb as was Daniel Brühl as their Austrian advocate. It was fun to see Elizabeth McGovern in her cameo role as judge. The Viennese scenes were superb. We recognized many of the sites from our numerous trips there.
Excellent film. It will be fun to see the "Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer" by Klimt next time we're in NYC. Don't believe the critics on this one!!
