Review of Woman in Gold (2015) by Joel A — 21 May 2015
When I initially saw the upcoming preview of this film I was less then enthusiastic but after sitting down & viewing the film I was quite impressed.
The plot itself is quite Linear an Austrian Jew fleeing her homeland due to Nazi Occupation & quite tragically losing the stunning portrait of her aunt in gold which was fraudulently taken by the Belverdere museum & entitled Woman in Gold.
The story centers on her story & relationship with Lawyer played well by Ryan Reynolds. The background of her history & family & what the painting meant to her is by far the strength of the film. It's not a timeless masterpiece by a throughly enjoyable film.
