Review of Woman in Gold (2015) by Matt A — 27 Sep 2015
I fail to see how the critics called this a dull story. Helen Mirren is, as always, brilliant and I was surprised to see Ryan Reynolds drop his usual arrogant charm from his early work and play a more mature role, not that he isn't able to do that, check out Buried for an intense thriller from him.
The story plays out through flashbacks from the war aswel as bringing it back to the present day and its very emotional to watch. Ultimately its about wanting justice for what the Nazis did during the war, stripping people of their identity and then fighting to get it back.
Very good film.
