Review of Wolf Hound (2022) by Cpcaesar — 05 Jun 2022
This movie is a solid entry into the genre, and that is all it tries to be, a throwback to the war movies of yesteryear that presented their subject in an unflinching and straightforward way. Loosely inspired by specific events during the Second World War, the film includes great practical effects and some very nice aerial set pieces.
The physics can be less than Newtonian at times, as bullets seem to have a tendency to lift people off of the ground in the manner of the Stallone and Arnold halcyon days in the 1980's, but at least for this reviewer it added to the charm.
Earnest and sincere, Wolf Hound is worth watching if you grew up on films such as The Longest Day, The Green Berets, or any of the hundreds of other homages to the men sent off to fight society's wars.
