Review of Wolf Creek (2005) by Tom E — 27 Nov 2008
Probably the best horror film I have ever seen. Most horror films contain creatures or animals, something to me which ain't scary at all. The things that happen in this film COULD HAPPEN. Its loosely based on a case a few years ago in Australia.
Another multiple murderer (Which this film isn't based on) DID do similar things to backpackers in the 90's. Quentin Tarantino said its the scariest film he has ever seen. I agree. If it could happen, then its scary, as you can easily relate to the victims and what is happening to them.
FAR more scary than pap like Nightmare on Elm Street, Alien, Texas Chain Saw (Which is pretty grim), Descent, The Ring, Halloween, Poltegiest..... You get the picture?!!? On a par with Blair Witch and The Grudge.
... But far more real!!! If you think this is cr*p then I would seriously question your judgement. People who question it are simply reacting subconciously to being a little scared when they watch it and are clearly protecting there psychy - especially when in a large group.
