Review of Wolf Creek 2 (2013) by Gary C — 15 Sep 2014
Mick Taylor returns!! this belated sequel to the 2005 Aussie horror is seriously unapologetically nasty, brutal stuff only for the hardcore horror fans out there, it's a stunningly graphic, viciously mean spirited comeback for master horror filmmaker Greg McLean (His first film since hugely underrated killer croc flick Rogue) this is a brilliantly well made, ballsy action horror film, with bigger set pieces than the first and a Mad Max/The Hitcher feel in it's surprisingly big action scenes including a commendably fucking insane scene with suicidal cgi kangaroo during a big truck chase.
The film also ends with an unbearably tense and flat out astonishing extended scene of riddles and dark laughs in Micks horrifyingly fucked up lair, and like I said some of the most hard, explicit violence and gore in ages and ages, plus John Jarrat cements Taylor as one of the most terrifying and blackly hilarious villains ever, a totally fucking badass film,.
