Never watched the TV show, and so I cannot compare. I can only rate it as is - and it's crap. Funny dumb moments, sure it puts a smile on my face once in a while. Hell, I put a smile on my own face looking in the mirror and it doesn't mean anything.
Awful acting, cheap CG/magic scenes. Might be fun watching it with family and the kids, but - not for me.
