Review of Wizards (1977) by John P — 19 Feb 2008
The movie is on the border between ridiculous and surreal, but still manages to be entertaining. As usual, Bakshi's mix of traditional drawn animation and rotoscoping is a little iffy, and you can almost feel his hubris poke you in the eye in some parts (witness his arrogance in the DVD's special features.
I mean, the man deserves praise, but he acts like he's the second coming of Christ.). Still, it's really entertaining at parts and manages to be a good non-kid animated movie.
