Review of Witness for the Prosecution (1957) by Madison N — 15 Jan 2013
A few weeks ago, I read Ms Christie's short story that this film is based on and wondered how Wilder could have made a movie out of the few pages. But Wilder did, and what a movie!
I have never seen Dietrich better and Laughton was witty and teddy-bear cute (see scene where he rides the "stairs-lift"). Only Power's acting/accent was somewhat lacking, but he did a decent job, especially in the last scene.
