Review of Witness for the Prosecution (1957) by Jacob N — 14 Nov 2007
Great script - Agatha Christie play adapted and directed by Billy Wilder. Lots of twists and turns. A little backloaded, but still worth the wait. The humor is an example of something that is lost in today's "lowest common denominator" using explicit language (which I love, btw), but it is more difficult to craft witty humor that is completely clean.
This movie does that well. Random aside - Marlene Dietrich is 56 in this film. Just thought I'd point that out.
