Review of Witness for the Prosecution (1957) by Darryl J — 05 May 2008

I am officially a Billy Wilder fanboy now. He was one of the best directors and writers but I don't feel like many people know about him. All his films are so clever with some of the most engaging characters ever. This is one of them.

I thought this was gonna be typical courtroom drama fare but it turned out to have some extremely likable characters and a script that never lets up. Charles Laughton,who directed "The Night of The Hunter(his only film), is electrifying here. He gets some of the best lines in this movie. I really really liked this movie. Don't google this though. You're likely to read a twist or two about it and their are plenty of those in this superbly crafted thriller.
