Review of Witness for the Prosecution (1957) by Richard V — 10 Jul 2008
Charles Laughton is wonderful in this movie. His performance could have made a lesser movie great. But there are so many great things in this movie. Billy Wilder directed, this movie has everything you would expect from Billy Wilder.
The end has lots of twists and is really something to admire, considering it was probably the first time this kind of story had been told on the screen. While it is not Billy Wilder at his greatest, I would recommend this movie for anyone that loves courtroom dramas or mysteries, or that really love Billy Wilder.
