Review of Witness for the Prosecution (1957) by Jon D — 27 Jan 2009
An amazing performance by Charles Laughton as the great and very grumpy master barrister Sir Wilfred Robarts. A part well-played to the very end, that alone could have made this movie deserve a high rating.
However, the story was also well-told and flowed smoothly with some nicely placed comic relief, all thanks to the great direction of Billy Wilder.
And may I add, "Ms. Christie, you create great characters.".
On a side note, Wilfred Robarts definitely pwned Phoenix Wright as defense attorney... ahem.
