Review of Witness for the Prosecution (1957) by David C — 30 Apr 2013
An absolutely great courtroom drama with twists to rival "The Usual Suspects." Charles Loughton's irascible barrister is one of the most compelling heroes in film history. He deserves to have had his own spinoff franchise or television series.
Equally important to this film's success is Ty Power, who strikes just the right balance in a challenging role. Marlene Dietrich and flashbacks to early postwar Germany lend the film a 1940s noir flavor.
