Review of Witness (1985) by Tristan S — 19 Nov 2010
Although ostensibly a "cop drama", the bulk of the film is more a leisurely fish-out-of-water culture clash story, building to a love that could never work. It masterfully and subtly gets across its various themes (including, importantly, peer or societal pressure) without being too on the nose.
Peter Weir is in fine form here.
