Review of Withnail & I (1987) by Nate A — 15 Apr 2008
This has to be the quintessential British comedy film, with Richard E. Grant and Paul McGann giving absolutely sterling performances as the eponymous Withnail and I, along with Richard Griffiths as the delightfully creepy Uncle Monty.
The script is superb, with some of cinema's most memorable, hilarious and quotable lines ever written. I defy you not to address people as "Scrubbers!", or mutter "chin-chin" before an beverage! This film is perfectly enjoyable and endlessly watchable.
Treat yourself, and revel in this film!
