Review of Withnail & I (1987) by Mark Z — 02 Oct 2009
Low key British comedy with a treasure trove of pitch-perfect dry humor. Paul McGann is excellent as the frequently unsettled I, with Richard Griffith equally up to the challenge as the flamboyant Monty.
This is however Richard E. Grant's film through and through and it is his performance as the ribald, drunken, but awesomely charismatic Withnail that makes the film most memorable.
