Withnail and I is both a very dark and very British cult comedy, and a look at the dying '60s culture shortly before the start of a new decade. It's unrelenting bleak, depressing, dreary, hysterically funny (although it does draw quite a bit of humor from the misery of its protagonists) and sadly poignant.
In other words, it matches my personality to a "T.".
