Review of With Honors (1994) by Jennifer A — 21 Apr 2006
I'm beginning the rather lengthy task of entering into the database every film I have seen, at least those I have a decent memory of. Some may have the briefest of reviews while many will just have a number. Those films that I consider personal favorites and/or those that have some historical signficance I will add later when I have time for more lengthy reviews.
Waiting To Exhale Director: Forest Whitaker. Stars Whitney Houston, Angela Bassett, Loretta Devine, Lela Rochon, Gregory Hines and Dennis Haysbert. Comedy drama about four middle class black women searching for love and meaning to their lives. I enjoyed the Angela Bassett character, but Whitney Houston proved once again that she isn't a very good actor.
Wyatt Earp Director: Lawrence Kasdan.Stars Kevin Costner, Dennis Quaid, Gene Hackman, Mark Harmon, Catherine O'Hara, Isabella Rossellini. Bill Pullman and Michael Madsen. Bloated epic western with almost no cohesion. Looks great, but very hollow. Dennis Quaid gives the best performance.
Wayne's World Director: Penelope Spheeris. Stars Mike Myers, Dana Carvey, Rob Lowe, and Tia Carrere. Another SNL spinoff movie. A few funny moments, but not enough to sustain a full length feature, much less a sequel.
Wayne's World 2 Director: Stephen Surjik. Stars Mike Myers, Dana Carvey, Tia Carrere and Christopher Walken.
With Honors Director: Alek Keshishian. Stars Joe Pesci, Brendan Fraser, Patrick Dempsey and Moira Kelley. A homeless man teaches some snotty rich kids some lessons about life.
