Review of With Honors (1994) by Shira K — 10 Feb 2011
I never even heard of it until I saw it recently (I've been watching older Brendan Fraser films of late...and decided he is a very good actor indeed and I prefer him in dramas) and I think this film is a lovely little unknown gem.
Maybe I just like intelligent, preachy movies with sentimental themes in semi realistic backdrops... it might be just me but they are more heartfelt when you need a good long break from regular Hollywood drivel. I love movies like Homeless to Harvard, or Little Women, or anything that takes its time to tell a story well with some brilliant scipt writing here and there. For a movie that is unappreciated, it is definitely worth the watch even more than once.
