Review of Wit (2001) by Dawn D — 26 Jan 2009
I saw this play years ago and I remember liking it very much. As much as you can "like" a movie about terminal cancer. Objectively speaking, I think it works much better as a play than as a film. The soliloquys directed right at the camera were a little too disconcerting. And the close-ups of her face as she died a slow painful death were . . . rather slow and painful.
But, that really is my only gripe with the movie. It still left me sobbing at the end. So, it gets five stars.
