Review of Wish You Were Here (2012) by Greg M — 06 Nov 2013

I really liked the Australian dramas Animal Kingdom and The Square and liked them both, but this one let me down. It is a short film and I really felt like it was missing some key scenes (like when they woke up the next morning without their friend there or the flight back home).

The film also uses a lot of flashbacks and I think they were key to the film, but I felt they were over used and were confusing. The story is pretty solid and really intrigued me, but the script and/or direction were very poor and therefore I could not like this film more than 3 stars.
