On the trailer, they said that this was directed by the same one who did Annabelle. I definitely was hesitant on this movie, because I wasn't impressed with Annabelle. The characters aren't terrible, as in about half of the PG-13 rated horror movies, but the movie felt too much like watching Final Destination to me on the death scenes, only not as gory or graphic like those movies.
Definitely a watered-down, yet predictable, "horror" movie (more like a thriller than a horror movie).
