Review of Wish Upon (2017) by David L — 29 Jun 2018
This is like one of those very few addictively cheesy horrors that were ever present in the 90's/00's, but nowhere to be seen now, meaning it was refreshing to see such entertainment hit our screens again.
It reminds me a tad of the Final Destination concept in that very far fetched and unlikely repercussions occur, which in this case is a side effect of each of the seven wishes that our lead heroine gets to make upon the discovery of an ancient Chinese box.
Typically the deaths begin to get a little closer to home the more wishes she makes, and the ending albeit predictable still has a very clever, and literally hard hitting format. This was a very welcome watch and I know if I had seven wishes, I would 'wish upon' more of these type of films to be produced.
