Review of Wish I Was Here (2014) by Jon M — 28 Jul 2014
Absolutely loved it. I was an absolutely huge fan of Garden State when that came out. Now at 29, I feel like I'm transitioning with Braff's movies. GS was a very teenage film and this one feel like that next step in an early-mid-30 year olds life.
I really loved this film. It was funny and emotional, Never took itself too seriously, but the spots where Mandy Patinkin really got to stretch his acting chops were some of the best parts of the entire affair.
There were some parts I did not understand nor could relate to (the orthodox religious parts), but I got the message overall. See this film if you have a chance. Great date movie. Great for a young person stepping into the next part of their lives.
