Review of Wish I Was Here (2014) by John M — 25 Jan 2015
It's painfully trying hard at everything. The constant emotional manipulation and the forced humor in every scene is nearly nauseating and I didn't have any idea how to sympathize with Zach Braff's "crossroads in life" here when there's a fake coating of movie deathbed scenes and slow motion montages of him playing with his kids.
It's really the most opposite film of "Garden State" in tone and meaning and in the worst way possible.
