Review of Wise Blood (1979) by Hunter S — 25 Feb 2012
On the whole this was quite good. It seems like folks harp on the music as being, well, ridiculous, and it kind of was, but whatcha gonna do? I strongly suspect that Huston's intent differed significantly from O'Connor's, and although the "text" is basically identical I don't know that the story and the movie can be read the same way.
Anyway, Brad Dourif is quite excellent, and holy crap that's Billy the Kid from Bill and Ted.
