Review of Winter's Tale (2014) by Robert R — 17 Feb 2014
Was A wonderful thought provoking roller coaster of joy and sadness wrapped in devotion and love.
Have we all lost our whimsical side these days it was a beautiful thought provoking story that ABSOLUTELY made sense if you paid attention. It struck me as very The Fountain meets something Neil Gaiman would write and for that I applaud it for being original , ambitious, tear jerking , and full of heart. We have become too jaded for good thought provoking storytelling with fantasy mixed with fairy tale. The film was marketed wrong as a straight love story with a time travel twist. It is so much deeper than that and because of the horrible unfounded reviews it will kill the originality bug yet again for studios and they will be shy to take a chance on such things. I took my wife not at her request but mine to this and was not disappointed one bit. I am not religious and this does touch on spirituality but not so much on a set dogma it is more about the balances of dark and light , chaos and order , life and death, destiny and choices with both tragic and wonderful outcomes mixed in. Give this a try. See it make a decision for yourself as to how good it is don't let people who are paid for their opinion make that choice for you. Thanks for reading :).
