Review of Winter's Tale (2014) by Roxanne R — 30 Jul 2014

All these critics have lost their mind! This beautiful, haunting and special love story was made remarkably well. I understand it is based on the 1983 novel of the same name by Mark Helprin. Have not read the book but another instance of bringing the story alive with color, action, music, scenery, costumes, oh what a delight to watch in Blu-ray! Coincidentally Russell Crowe plays a demon impersonating a gangster named Pearly Soames.

So different from Noah. Anyways, Pearly has unfinished business with Peter Lake (Colin Farrell), an orphan that he found on the streets of NY and raised to become a thief and lowlife. Fortunately once Peter Lake chose to leave the gang he meets a young lady named Beverly Penn, who is dying of consumption.

The story continues from there. I thought the cast and crew did a marvelous job and the angelical white horse was beautiful. This story deals heavily with concepts of destiny, love, friendship, time travel, miracles, hope.

So get ready to embark on an interesting and thought provoking ride through the past, present and future. Find out what destiny is all about!
