Review of Winter's Tale (2014) by Matt B — 08 Apr 2015

This movie worked on the acting and cinematography. The script needed some revisions before filming took place. But here is the thing that is questionable that many critics say, but really it could lie in the editing room. Meaning the writer of the script isAkiva Goldsman, he's known for writing screenplays like 'A Beautiful Mind (won best screenplay), Cinderella Man, I Am Legend, etc. I feel like the script was top notch but in the cutting of the film the studio heads decided to cut scenes to make it only 2 hrs and in there lies the part of the film that doesn't work. Colin Farrell is great. Crowe plays a good villian. I liked the themes dealing with good vs. bad, why some stay on this earth until they do what they need to do, love etc.

P.S. Goldsman is also responsible for writing Batman & Robin, so I guess some writiers can't always knock it out of the park.
