Review of Winter's Tale (2014) by Oz B — 14 Feb 2014
This movie is really bad! Not from a lack of acting, every actor in this movie, especially Colin Farrell, Russell Crowe, and Eva Marie Saint, and the two little girls in the movie (Mckayla Twiggs & Ripley Sobo) did a great job.
It seems the director didn't do a very good job of weaving a seamless storyline. It starts off very confusing, with the time frame shift with no explanation, and continues to confuse from there. The demonic special effects were a bit odd and out of place, and Will Smith as Lucifer was one of the most 'scratch your head' cameo's in a movie I've ever seen.
Two good things about this movie: the acting, and there are a few one liners that will make you chuckle to yourself. Other than that, this movie provides only about 10 minutes of pretty damn good with the end battle scene between Russell Crowe's character and Collin Farrell's character.
(but even that ends poorly). And if you have never read the source material, I imagine you will be even more lost & confused. I would wait to see this movie on basic cable.
