Jennifer Lawrence, and possibly her two younger siblings, are the only bright spots in this stark, depressing, slow-paced landscape. Believe it or not, this is not my favorite JLaw performance, but perhaps she was nominated because she was so understated.
Just like Agnes in "The Poker House" (my fave JLaw performance outside of THG) and Katniss in "The Hunger Games," Ree Dolly is responsible for taking care of a younger sibling(s) and incapacitated (sp?) mother.
And she's tough. But the similarities more or less end there.
