Review of Winter People (1989) by Bill S — 02 Jul 2012
Competently photographed. Couldn't tell what was going on half the time, we end up in places the filmmakers never led us. We're just inexplicably there on the other side of the cut. The synopsis given on WikiPedia is more enlightening than anything that actually occurs in the film.
The best part of this movie is the end-title ballad, the Jimmy Webb-penned "Lightning in a Bottle", sung beautifully by Jennifer Warnes, this version is reportedly Webb's favorite recording of the song, and one can easily hear why.
Which makes it a shame that the soundtrack album is out of print and regularly goes for $100 used!
