This is a love it or hate it movie that I liked enough to buy. It's a character driven movie and it worked. It's got Will Ferrell in a serious (enough) role, but it works since the character is an oddball.
Ed Harris nails another role as a sick gifted writer. And Zoeey Deschanel is in it.
